Booking & payment

How do I book a tour?

Choose your tour, enter your dates and number of travelers, and pay the deposit online. We then email you a confirmation with your itinerary, pickup details and the WhatsApp number of your driver. For a custom route, send us a message first and we will prepare a quote you can book in the same way.

How much is the deposit?

Our default deposit is 30% of the tour price, paid online when you book. It secures your vehicle, driver and accommodation for your dates. The exact amount appears before you pay, so there are no surprises. The remaining balance is paid when you arrive in Morocco.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay?

No. PayPal lets you pay with your PayPal account or as a guest with a debit or credit card. PayPal works in the US, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. In Trinidad and Tobago, some PayPal features are limited, so if your payment does not go through, contact us and we will find another option.

How do I pay the balance?

You pay the balance in cash on arrival, usually to your driver on the first day of the tour. We accept euros or Moroccan dirhams. ATMs are easy to find in Casablanca, Marrakech and Fes airports and city centers, so you can withdraw dirhams when you land.

What is your cancellation policy?

By default, you can cancel up to 30 days before departure and get your deposit back, minus PayPal fees. Between 29 and 15 days before departure, we refund 50% of the deposit. Within 15 days, the deposit is non-refundable. Check our booking terms for the full details.

Can I change my dates after booking?

Yes, if we have availability. Tell us as early as possible, ideally more than 30 days before departure. For private tours, date changes are usually easy. For group tours, we can move you to another departure with free seats. Changes close to departure depend on hotels and camps.

Prices

Why do private tour prices change with group size?

The biggest cost of a private tour is the vehicle and driver, which costs the same for one traveler or seven. When more people share it, each person pays less. For example, a private day trip costs €95 per person for two travelers and €47.50 per person for four.

Why are your prices in euros?

Our prices are set in euros, which is the currency we use with hotels and camps across Morocco. US dollar or Caribbean dollar amounts on our site are approximate and depend on the exchange rate on the day you pay. As of October 2026, €1 is about $1.12.

What is included in the price?

Multi-day tours include the vehicle and English-speaking driver, accommodation with breakfast and dinner, and a camel ride and desert camp night when the route reaches Merzouga. Each tour page lists what is included and excluded, so you can compare tours side by side.

What is not included?

Flights, lunches, drinks, entrance fees, tips and travel insurance are not included. Local guides in cities are also extra unless the tour says otherwise. Budget roughly for lunch every day and a few entrance tickets. Our guide to the cost of a trip to Morocco has realistic figures.

Is there a single supplement?

On group tours, the fixed price assumes a shared room. If you travel solo and want your own room, a single supplement is available on request. On private tours, a solo traveler pays the full vehicle cost alone, so a small group tour often works out cheaper.

Can I upgrade my hotels?

Yes. Most private multi-day tours offer a superior accommodation upgrade, with nicer riads, kasbah hotels and more comfortable desert tents. Our luxury routes go further, with boutique lodges and luxury camps. Ask us and we will price the upgrade for your exact dates.

Private vs group

Should I choose a private or a group tour?

Choose private if you want to set your own pace, stop when you like and travel only with your own people. Choose a group tour if you want the lowest price per person and enjoy meeting other travelers. Families and couples often go private; solo travelers often go group.

How big are your groups?

Our small-group tours have a maximum of 17 travelers. That keeps the group small enough for family-run camps and quick photo stops, and big enough to keep the price low. Many departures run with fewer people, especially outside the peak spring and fall seasons.

What kind of vehicle will we travel in?

Private tours use an air-conditioned vehicle that seats up to 7 travelers, with your own driver. Group tours use a shared air-conditioned minibus. On both, the driver speaks English and stops regularly for breaks, viewpoints and lunch. Luggage travels with you, so pack one main bag per person.

Can you change a group tour itinerary?

No. Group tours follow a fixed itinerary so that everyone gets what they booked. If you want to add a stop, stay an extra night or change the end city, choose a private tour. Private tours are flexible, and adjusting the route has no extra planning fee.

Can you plan a fully custom trip?

Yes. Tell us your arrival and departure cities, dates, interests and budget. We will design a route, choose hotels and send you a clear price per person. Many travelers start from one of our existing private tours and ask us to add a city or extend the desert part.

Sahara desert

Which desert do you visit?

Most of our multi-day tours go to Erg Chebbi near Merzouga, where the dunes are tall and golden. From Marrakech we also offer an evening in the Agafay stone desert, 40 minutes away, and some group routes pass through the Draa Valley near Zagora.

What is a desert camp like?

Camps are made of traditional tents set among the dunes. Standard camps have beds, blankets and shared or private bathrooms depending on the camp. Luxury camps add private bathrooms and more space. Dinner is served in camp, often with drums and music around the fire.

How long is the camel ride?

The camel ride to camp usually takes one to two hours at sunset, with a stop on a dune to watch the sun go down. You ride back at sunrise. If you prefer not to ride, tell us in advance and we can arrange a 4×4 transfer to the camp.

Is the desert cold at night?

It can be. From November to February, nights in the Sahara can drop close to freezing even after a warm day. Camps provide heavy blankets, but bring a warm jacket, a hat and socks. From June to August, days are very hot, so we plan driving for the cooler hours.

How many days do I need for the Sahara?

Three days is the minimum from Marrakech, because Merzouga is a long drive away and you need one night at the camp. Four days gives you a slower pace and a second night in the desert. From Fes, three days works well and can end in Marrakech.

Practical

Do I need a visa for Morocco?

As of October 2026, US citizens, including Puerto Ricans, can visit Morocco for up to 90 days without a visa. Citizens of Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago generally need a consular visa, though you may qualify for an e-Visa if you hold certain residence permits or visas. Always check the official sources.

How do I fly to Morocco from the US or the Caribbean?

Royal Air Maroc flies nonstop to Casablanca from New York JFK, Washington Dulles, Miami and Los Angeles, as of October 2026. From the Caribbean, you will usually connect through Miami, New York or a European hub. There are no nonstop flights from the Americas to Marrakech.

What is the time difference?

Morocco is on UTC+1 most of the year and UTC+0 during Ramadan. That puts Morocco five hours ahead of Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago, six hours ahead of Jamaica and five or six hours ahead of New York, depending on the season. Plan your first day lightly if you arrive on an overnight flight.

What plugs and voltage does Morocco use?

Morocco uses 220 V and European two-pin plugs, types C and E. US devices need a plug adapter, and anything that only runs on 110 V also needs a converter. Most phone and laptop chargers handle both voltages, so an adapter is usually enough.

Where do you pick us up?

For tours from Marrakech, Fes and other cities, we pick you up at your hotel or riad. If your riad is deep inside the medina, we meet you at the nearest point a car can reach and help with your bags. Airport pickups can be arranged for most tours.

Safety & health

Is Morocco safe for tourists?

Morocco is generally a safe and welcoming country for visitors. The most common problems are petty theft and persistent touts in busy medinas. On our tours, your driver helps you navigate, recommends trusted places to eat and shop, and is only a WhatsApp message away.

Is Morocco safe for women traveling alone?

Many women travel solo in Morocco and enjoy it. Expect some unwanted attention in cities, which is usually verbal and best ignored. Dressing modestly helps, and a small-group tour is a great option if you want company on the road. Our safety guide has detailed tips.

Can I drink the tap water?

We recommend bottled or filtered water, especially for short trips. It is cheap and sold everywhere. Use it for brushing your teeth too if your stomach is sensitive. Your driver will point out good places to buy water along the route.

Do I need vaccines for Morocco?

There are no special vaccine requirements for travelers from the US as of October 2026, but routine vaccines should be up to date. Some doctors also recommend hepatitis A and typhoid. Talk to your doctor or a travel clinic four to six weeks before you travel.

Should I buy travel insurance?

Yes. Travel insurance is not included in our tours, and we strongly recommend it. Choose a policy that covers medical care, emergency evacuation and trip cancellation. If you plan to ride camels or hike in the Atlas, make sure those activities are covered.

Ready to see Morocco your way?

Tell us your dates and who you are traveling with. We will reply with a clear plan and price, usually within one working day.
